Thu joined Carter Williamson in 2014 after graduating from the University of New South Wales with a Master of Architecture degree.

Upon the completion of his Bachelor Degree, Thu started work at Studio Nield, gaining valuable experience under the mentorship of 2012 AIA Gold Medallist Lawrence Nield. During this time, Thu worked on a wide range of projects including an extension of a cultural building in Canberra, a major hospital project in Hong Kong as well as assistance in the submitted drawings of Cook & Phillip Park Aquatic and Fitness Centre for the book ‘Public Sydney: Drawing the City’.

Throughout his architectural education, Thu has learnt to appreciate the role that light, human scale, proportions and materiality plays in the exploration of spatial experiences. He believes that ultimately architecture is about the creation of space where people, materials and light work in harmony.

Thu considers himself a bit of a cinephile and absolutely wants Hollywood to remake Ayn Rand’s ‘The Fountainhead’.
