Gabriella Boyd

B. Design in Architecture USYD

Gabriella is interested in an approach to architecture that is humanistic, sensitive to the landscape and employs sustainable design principles. Her upbringing in the Blue Mountains has had a strong influence on her ideas around the importance of designing architecture that connects people to each other and the environment.

Gabriella is very interested in the intersection between architecture and art. In early 2019 she began an independent public art practice informed by an architectural understanding of site space and influenced by the Land Art Movement. She exhibited her first work, The Sounding Waves’ Translucent Light, in Sculpture by the Sea at Bondi, 2019 and is continuing to work on new ideas.

Gabriella brings to Carter Williamson complimentary experience in graphic design and wayfinding design, as well as having volunteered on the construction of large bamboo structures for art/architecture firm Cave Urban, from the bamboo harvest through to completion.

Gabriella has completed a Bachelor of Design in Architecture from the University of Sydey, being awarded the Deans’ List of Academic Excellence (2017) and the Noel Chettle Memorial Art Prize (second prize in the 3D Processes category) 2016
