Bondi Colour Profile Tower

Linda Matthews recently collaborated with Drew Heath in the Urban Lounge initiative in Bondi Junction. Using her ‘Urban Colour Profile’ methodology, Linda developed and installed a tower on Spring Street.

As part of the Complete Streets Project, ‘Urban Lounge’ brings new public seating to Spring Street, with a fixed and movable installation. The development includes new timber seats, bike racks, mobile and lap top battery recharge outlets, and a 5 meter high LED light tower with a recharging solar panel. The light tower acts like a giant light box presenting highly coloured digital reinterpretations of the local neighbourhood. This new way of imaging site delivers a completely new understanding of the urban landscape to passers-by and contributes to a stronger and more diverse sense of place.

The ‘Urban Lounge’ is part of the Waveryly Council Complete Streets project  which aims to enhance the vibrancy of Bondi Junction. You can read more about the Complete Streets projects at Waverly Council website.
